CReSIS is developing 3 types of sophisticated sensors for collecting much needed data from the areas of Greenland and Antarctic where ice sheets are undergoing rapid changes. The data is essential to understanding the processes and developing improved ice sheet models. The more exact the models are, the better we can simulate how ice sheets will respond to a warming climate and predict their contribution to sea-level rise.
